My investment in urban education caused me to write this article, which focuses on the state of education in Detroit Public Schools. My audiences for this piece were concerned families and teachers of Detroit, as well as the government officials presiding over the budget issues for the district. This includes my many concerns for teachers in Detroit, as well as offers several of my positive outlooks on where the district could be headed.
