Thank you for taking the time to look through my online portfolio. I have created this site to provide an overview of my teaching experiences; on this site, you will find a collection of teaching artifacts that I have developed throughout my studies at Michigan State University. I have included a year-long unit, as well as several lesson plans, based on my experiences as an English educator. You will also find work that I have done in my minor, English as a Second Language, and my specialization in Urban Education.

Who I Am:

I am Molly Harrison, a teacher who was raised with a love for reading, driving my desire to be an English teacher. I see English as a class where students are able to explore the world and all of the different was of thinking, creating, and expressing ideas that the world has to offer. My personal philosophy about teaching English is to tailor a class in ways that help students realize who they are on the individual level, and to help them see how they can think and express themselves in a way that helps create peace with others. To me, English provides the perfect catalyst for personal growth and the perfect platform for a young person to find their interconnectedness in the world.
In addition to teaching, I have a passion for many other things: I love to camp and hike in the summer; I enjoy running year-round; I play the violin for recreational purposes, and practice photography as a hobby in my spare time. I hope to bring these hobbies, as well as my students' hobbies into the classroom for a unique, personal experience.
